Free Virtual Machine - run Windows on Mac
Mike Kronenbert wrote ‘Q’; a free, open source virtual machine that can run windows and linux on Intel based Macs.
A completely rewritten cocoa port of QEMU, built directly on OS X, making use of Apples Core-technologies like Coreimage, Coreaudio and OpenGL for in- and output, saving the overhead of crossplattform APIs like SDL, FMOD or GTK.
This virtual machine is considered to be ‘Alpha’, it is considerably slower than other virtual machines such as Parallels but it seems fairly stable and you can’t beat the price.

Windows Vista and VPNs
As if Vista didn’t have enough problems already with hardware compatibility issues its been reported that Microsoft Vista does not support most VPNs currently on the market. If you don’t know what a VPN is you have nothing to worry about, otherwise this puts a serious damper on the business user.
I was shopping a week ago and I saw Vista everywhere. This isn’t acceptable, my next purchase will have Vista removed immediately. I just hope there are no issues with putting XP on a machine that is plagued with the term ‘Vista Ready’.
