this time (as opposed to the old deck);
- the ledger is flashed and lagged into every [house] joist, hangars were used
- solid (glue lam?) 30′-ish beam
- deck joists hurricane strapp-ed to the beam
- upped the posts from 4×4 to 6×6, 6′-ish on center, off the concrete, with brackets to secure to the posts
- went with messmer’s natural to stain the doug fir
still have to head off and install the stairs, we have about 600sqft of IPE waiting …
don’t mind the big ugly house or the mess in the work area
